What do passwords and PIN numbers say about the person who chooses them? Things in our lives that we’re most proud of, people we love, big events, words that stand out or play with our brain in some way, numbers and the multiple meanings that they can have?
In the musical theater production RENT (really a rock opera but that’s another story), one of the characters tells everyone that he’s reprogrammed the ATM at the grocery store to dispense cash when you type in A-N-G-E-L which is the name of their friend who just died. It made me think of a high school friend of mine who set their first ATM PIN to RENT because that was the purpose of the bank account. Hmm, did Jonathan Larson, the writer of the musical RENT have a similar idea? Is that why the title of the musical is always all caps.
