The other day I received a notice from Spotify and The Harry Fox Agency to obtain permission for Spanish Power Metal band Dark Moor to cover my song Dies Irae. Pretty cool. Too bad it was actually composed by Mozart or I’d be rolling in the euros. Ha Ha (um not really).

I responded today to let Spotify know that my version is an arrangement of a composition by Mozart, and that I listened to Dark Moor’s version and that they seem to have taken Mozart’s piece in a different direction and shouldn’t conflict with my arrangement.

Here are the 3 versions; my version off the album This Box Makes Noise, Dark Moor’s version, and the original Mozart composition as performed live by Leonard Bernstein and Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks. What do you think?
